Crown Food Packaging USA Receives 'Spirit of Excellence' Award From Hormel Foods for Fourth Consecutive Year

(NYSE: CCK) (Crown) announced today that its Food Packaging USA affiliate has received a 'Spirit of Excellence' Award from Hormel Foods Corporation for the fourth consecutive year. Crown supplies Hormel Foods with rectangular shaped cans in two different sizes for the SPAM(R) family of products, along with other metal cans of various sizes.

Crown was presented with the 'Spirit of Excellence' Award for taking an active role in the Hormel Foods quality improvement process (QIP) during 2004. Eligible companies were selected according to various criteria, including performances involving deliveries, product quality, customer service, administration and plant quality audits.
