Investing in the Future

For the 28th consecutive year, we are providing one-year post-secondary educational scholarships to the children of Crown employees worldwide through the John F. Connelly Scholarship Fund. A total of 133 scholarships were awarded at a ceremony held at our Yardley, PA headquarters. 

Established in 1992 to mark our centennial anniversary, the scholarship fund honors the memory of John F. Connelly, who served as Chairman and CEO of the Company for 33 years. During his tenure, Connelly traveled often to visit employees around the globe and was well known for his commitment to the Crown family. The fund reflects his spirit of employee appreciation and his emphasis on continued personal and professional growth. Since its inception, the program has received over 21,000 applications and has awarded nearly $5 million dollars to more than 2,300 children.

Winners of the 2019 drawing were chosen from 967 applications, representing 208 Crown locations in 33 different countries. The winners include 53 recipients from Europe, 50 from the United States and Canada, 17 from Latin America, eight from Asia and five from Africa and the Middle East.
