Open Up to Cans (Part 2)
Qualities like taste, innovation, sustainability and performance are what matter most to consumers and brand owners – which is why aluminum beverage packaging takes the lead in the industry. The Open Up to Cans campaign, developed by the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI), showcases how the beverage can provides appealing, practical and beneficial features to brands and consumers alike. The campaign is supported by a series of research reports commissioned by the CMI between 2012 and 2015.
The Value of Taste
When it comes to taste, aluminum cans provide the best option in terms of both freshness and flavor.
Aluminum cans protect drinks from air and sunlight, which can cause beverages to lose their taste and freshness. According to the CMI survey, 85 percent of consumers believe that cans effectively block out the damaging effects of light and help preserve a drink’s flavor and carbonation, and 57 percent state that there is a unique cold and refreshing feeling when drinking straight from a can.
It is the distinct attributes of cans that help maintain the longevity of a beverage, keeping it both refreshing and satisfying.
